Watchlist 2024

It's that time of the year. I feel anxious if I haven't created this list. For the uninitiated, I have been making this list (mostly for myself—last year's post had 8 views lol who took their time to open a random movie blog) for a full 15 years now. Used to have this on Facebook then I moved it here and I haven't found a new place for this. Also this felt like a good habit to track movies I wanted to watch within the year.

Life update: none, really. But I started writing on Collider! If you see this, please do check out some of my articles. I've been wanting to start creating content on TikTok, so stay tuned next year for updates on this.

So it's the end of January and so far I have seen solid movies in cinemas. Saw Anyone But You (hot people, fun movie), Monster (speechless!), The Beekeeper (protect the hive!), and Anatomy of a Fall (no notes!). January isn't supposed to be this fun.

Without any further ado, here's the list! (*Bold = must watch for me)

Hmm after seeing this list, there's not many big movies. There are even no MCU movies, Deadpool 3 somehow doesn't count. The other big movies are movies that I'd watch but I wouldn't go on first weekend, like Joker 2. My opinion might change after I see a trailer. There are also big franchises that opted to release their animated movies, like LOTR and Transformers. Might do big bucks, but I'm not trained to see animated movie spinoffs on the big screen.

I guess here's my top 10 most anticipated films of 2024:

10. Mickey 17, if it gets released this year, would be top 5

9. The Fall Guy - trailer looks great

8. Deadpool 3 - curious!

7. Civil War - trailer looks great

6. Ballerina - Ana De Armas!

5. Rebel Moon - the Snyder Cut version

4. Alien: Romulus - intrigued!

3. Gladiator 2 - curious!

2. Furiosa

1. Dune Part Two
