*The* List in 2023

Hey! I checked my last year's post and I said that I needed a new hobby. I randomly mentioned knitting. Guess what? I do have a new hobby and it's a bit similar to knitting. I've started embroidery since December. So at least my subconscious is working!

The pandemic has changed my lifestyle I guess. Based on my Letterboxd, I only logged 213 movies in 2022—a stark difference from 341 in 2021. That number is even lower than pre-pandemic year in 2019 when I logged 230 movies. So I think these days I am picky when it comes to movies. If it's boring and pretentious I probably won't watch it. If it does not beg me to watch in cinemas, I won't bother going and I'll wait until it hits streaming. And coming back to my new hobby, these days I'd rather be embroidering stuff than binging a new dumb series on Netflix.

Anyway, it's hard to break a habit isn't it? Especially if it's about a stupid list that I've been making annually since—check notes—2009! Since this list is coming a bit late, I have to report that my moviegoing adventure kicked off with a bang this year. I watched only crazy, abundant movies (up until Ant-Man 3—superhero films are like social obligation these days), starting from M3GAN, Bollywood spectacle Pathaan, Babylon, the Titanic rerelease, to one of the best sci-fi films ever, The Wandering Earth II. I hope that streak continues.
