2025 Anno Filmo

Hello, I've been doing this for 16 years, listing my anticipated movies of the year. It's now more of a ritual than anything. No one's viewing this but me and like 15 other random visitors (yes, that's you!). Last year I mentioned that I wanted to start creating content on TikTok. That lasted for three months. But I'm still writing for Collider, please do give my page a look! It's a thankless job but I'm enjoying writing about some of my favorites. It's kind of a tricky job too, because the clickbait titles listing "worst movies" often thrived but I just felt negative writing them. So I'm only focusing on things I like and positive articles. Also, if you're on Letterboxd, you can also find me there.

It's already February 2025, and last month I only saw one movie, Wolf Man. I was excited for that movie because of Leigh Whannell and Julia Garner, but I was thoroughly disappointed. It's extra disappointing because that's the first movie that I saw in cinemas since late November when I saw Megalopolis. I wanted to watch Companion, but it was released during a busy holiday with like 10 other movies so it disappeared quite fast from the cinemas.

I'm much more mindful of what I watch in the cinemas these days. You can thank the pandemic for this. Last year I only saw 38 movies in the cinemas. Compare that with 2019 when I watched 78 movies in theatres. I'll still watch those movies, but probably when they hit streaming.

Anyway, let's get into it. These are my watchlist for 2025! Bolded titles are must-watches for me. There are two movies marked *, because their release dates are unconfirmed and I guesstimated.
